Self Evalution.

1.  What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?

I feel like I developed a variety of skills through out this module, story boarding I feel is the most useful to me as a designer, I think if I can story board an idea, there will be someone who had the technical capabilities and the patience to create it in after effects or a related program, another skill would be the technical skills I have developed in after effects, although I feel there quite limited. I think my application of these skills was moderately effective, I think I could of put a lot more effort into developing these skills further and applying them to my work.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

Storyboarding I feel is the most important process when designing for digital media, I would not feel comfortable enough to design straight from my head to screen using after effects as my technical skills are not good enough for this, storyboarding is a must, and has been the most useful tool for me though out this module.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?

I don’t think I had much strengths over this module, but if any maybe the simplicity in my sequences.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?

I think my main weakness was my work ethic and blogging, I didn’t have a very good work ethic for this module, and often left things till it was too late, doing this puts too much pressure on me and as a result of that, work gets rushed, and I failed to complete certain things to a high enough standard.  This module has made me realise if I keep up with this work ethic when I leave the course I will be completely unemployable, due to lack of commitment and dedication. I really am going to change this for the next module, I am going to apply myself 100% to my work, and try and produce the best I am capable of, I don’t think I have show my full potential in this project, and have disappointed myself.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

- Complete the tasks to the deadline set and to the best of my ability.

By doing this my design work will only get better, if I don’t push myself, I wont develop or build on                   the skills I already have.

- I would like to improve my commitment to the course

By doing this it will make me more successful, and improve my chances of employment.

-  Improve my work ethic

If I improve my work ethic, everything I do relating to this course will improve.

-       Time Management

I will use my time more effectively in the next module so I can get as much work done as needed, this again will make things a lot easier for me in the future.

- Note taking
-
I need a more organised way of taking notes, instead of just scrawling things down on paper.

The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
